The first rule of HIKE Club is to tell everyone about HIKE Club...
Our plan is to get fit & strong and make some new friends along the way! After our hike, stay and participate in a low impact, strength and core training class for all fitness levels. The goal of the workout session will be to build strength to avoid injury and improve performance in our workouts and daily activities. Equipment is provided, but please plan to bring water and a mat. The club goal is to create accountability and to get into a routine. Happy Cat will be there to help any way we can with training tips and plans!

Starting Wed. October 9 will be at the WISC complex at 5700 Warhill Trail each week. We will meet at 5:45pm and try to get done by 7pm. This will be the hike location and day moving forward for the Fall/Winter. This is mainly due to the lack of daylight and I like to have the indoor option for our post walk exercises and inclement weather.
The hike will be more road and sidewalk than trail, especially as it gets darker and darker. We will hike about 2 miles, then do some basic strength training after (or sometimes during) the hike. My goal is to help you progress your strength training, challenge your cardiovascular system and have fun!
As it gets darker, especially after the time change, you might want to consider having a light and reflective clothing. I will lead the way with a light, but sometimes we split up slightly. Mile paces can range from 14 min/mile to about 18 min/mile within the group. Since we will be on flat, less technical terrain, we can really push the pace! We will stay mostly on the lit portions of the complex and go inside if it is too cold or rainy.
Sometimes we will mix it up and participate in the 6pm rowing class or other "fun" surprises!
Our goal will be to start the hike by about 5:50pm. If you are running late just message me and I will let you know where we are!
